Artist Support Fair - Quartair

My work will be part of the Artist Support Fair - Geen bloem zonder wortel
Quartair, Toussaintkade, 55 Den Haag
Opening on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at 6 pm
Exhibition and sales through Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th, from 1 pm to 6 pm.

Quartair aims to draw attention to the artist of many cultural incubators of The Hague. They argue that artists, as much as all cultural institutions, need to be represented and supported in times of crisis. The many emergency measures have focused on the large subsidized cultural institutions. But without the makers, there is no exhibition, no performance, no festival, no film. With this Artist Support Fair they want to draw attention to the makers and the many breeding grounds of The Hague.

Quartair wil extra aandacht vragen voor het belang van de kunstmaker en de vele broedplaatsen in Den Haag. Door de coronacrisis zijn kunstenaars extra geraakt. De vele noodmaatregelen richten zich met name op de grote gesubsidieerde culturele instellingen. Maar zonder de maker, geen kunst! Kortom met de tentoonstelling doen we een oproep om ook de kunstmakers en de broedplaatsen in Den Haag te ondersteunen.

De wortel is het symbool van de tentoonstelling die verwijst naar de uitspraak “Er kan van cultuur pas sprake zijn, als er een minimum aan materiële welstand is. Geen bloem zonder wortels.” (Godfried Bomans)
