Together with Connie van Driel, Micha Poppe (Stroom Den Haag), Susanne Koekenberg (Nest), Rob Knijn (The Naked en Alternativeartguide.com), @Mattias König (@Locatie Z), Ingrid Lee (iii initiative), Sanne Luteijn (Billytown) Ludmila Rodrigues (Quartair Contemporary Art Initiatives) and Charlotte van Winden (@Moose Space) I explored the artistic climate of Athens in June. We visited a lot of artist run initiatives/ spaces, alternative galleries, musea and Documenta. A deeply inspiring and intriguing trip that revealed the resilience and creativity of the DIY Greek artistic climate.

Upcoming week I'm invited, as a member of See Lab, to join a field trip to Athens organised bij Stroom. Together with two board members of Stroom and eight other participating art initiatives from the Hague I will explore the cultural and artistic climate of Athens on the basis of an intensive program. I designed a See Lab leaflet and a business card to take with me. Very much looking forward to the trip!!!
Deputy Mayor Joris Wijsmuller, The Hague's alderman for Urban Development, Public Housing, Sustainability and Culture officially opened our new cultural incubator See Lab! We celebrated this great event with art, installations, a jam session with live music, delicious food and beer from Brewery Scheveningen!!
Den Haag, 2017 (April 1st-April 16th)
AIR tells the story about the See Lab community where professional artists and culture creators work both independently and together on art experiments, exhibitions and various projects sharing artistic and DIY mentality. AIR deals with the perception of air, the experience of air, and encourages the viewer to become more aware of the air that we all breathe and share.
This event not only sets the tone for a fresh wind of artworks in See Lab recently renovated exhibition space, but also opens up different studios throughout the building, full of creativity and surprise in every corner. The viewer is invited to breathe in the space and participate interactively by feeling the air through a collide sound system or even by sculpting its own dunes!
See Lab opens its doors for its first event and is inviting you to open up all your senses to AIR!

Yesterday Mathieu Schatteman started making a short documentary about See Lab. More info will follow.
We moved a big step forward in realising the seven additional workshops in the attic of the cultural incubator See Lab. Today the the contractor's visited us. The building-process will be delayed but I'm very happy with this new step.
