work in progress: We’re all strange here

info: This project is about constructed images of city lives in a demolition area.
I’m using photography, paper cutting, 3D-modeling and image manipulation to transform
two-dimensional images into three-dimensional sculptures.

info: As a student photography I have started my search for traces in a Dutch working-class
area that were awaiting demolition. I made a book about the personal stories I discovered
on the walls of the empty houses and combined them with pictures of the changing
urban space. The personal stories exist in handwritten texts and images recorded by habitants
of the past. The information in these are often an expression of their innermost feelings.
Sometimes they bear witness of a dead-end situation and yet, in other cases they are proof of
idealism, hope and resistance.
