Babel is a project about the apocalyptic scenario of the tower of babel and the desire of human to create something larger than life. The mystical union of heaven and earth, the confusion of tongues and the power of nature.
My digital constructed Babel towers were arising from a strong fascination for imaginary architecture. It was my mission to create a new reality with painterly representation of a subject that doesn’t really exist. The composite parts of the Babel tower are the result of my ongoing photo-explorations. I used these photographic pieces and blended them together. The composition is based on the iconic work ‘The Tower of Babel’ by Pieter Bruegel the Elder (1563).
Babel is for sale at the Seelevel Gallery and Kunstuitleen Voorburg. Winner of New Masters 2013 public and expert top , presented in the online gallery of GemeenteMuseum the Hague and exhibited in the Ring Gallery in Zagreb.
